I can't find an appropriate forum for questions about this web forum, so I'll try here...
What's the maximum size attachment you can upload here? Even simple gifs give me a generic "too large" error.
I can't find this documented anywhere.

I believe PHPBB's default maximum file size is 2MB, but that seems large for a simple GIF. Was it multi-frame?

Yeah, that's looping multi-frame. And 2MB is what I was thinking, since I just tried a 2.1MB image and got rejected.

I think it is a lot less than 2 MB. Or rather, size alone doesn't mean anything.
For instance, This animated gif is 356.6 KiB,

- 1.21 GIGAWATTS !?!?
and you can see the result of trying to upload it.

- It...won't....goooooOOOOOOooooo...
- forumPicSizeLimit.png (7.1 KiB) Viewed 4676 times
I suspect it depends on a lot of things, like number of colors/frames/height/width etc. Applying that theory to this same gif, I reduced it to 2 colors and 28 frames, and it uploaded.

- Reduced to 2 colors, and 28 frames.
but now doesn't play unless you click on it hah.

256 Kb (i.e. quarter of a Megabyte).
