How long does copyright on software last for?

Depends on the jurisdiction. If memory serves, in the States copyright protections last the life of the author plus 70 years.

Well, I know that everyone will want my software in 2121; but I wonder how they will get it to work. 8)

Easy. They'll just launch LiveCode 109.6.2.
Still buggy, but it'll support flying cars.

flying cars
When I was 10 (in 1972) our schoolteacher piously informed us that when we were about 35
we'd all be moving around in flying cars . . . 24 years after I was 35 I am still waiting . . .

Needless to say, there is a unit churning out the same utter crap in one of the EFL books I use.

Nasty dig: but, especially considering current events, probably entirely accurate.
