Last time I looked (lang time syne) the rather good file that Jacque authored to swizzle the MC GUI around withe the LC setup to produce a mulatto of some strength did not work with any type of LC post the version 8 series . . .

I think it stopped working long before that, somewhere around LC 5 or 6, or maybe even before that.

The last time I fiddled around with it was with LC 7 (just checked), and it did not work.

Just checked "the version" in my MC installation and got -> 8.1.10

Bogs kept the MC IDE updated for a while, but despite being the longest-running open source project in the community I don't believe it's worth using anymore.

Even if updated so it doesn't break with the few language deprecations, it lacks GUI support for a great many language features, and never supported building for mobile.

In larger communities even highly niche projects like this can attract sufficient attention for viability. But the LC universe is too small to expect to find the volunteer resources for something like this.

MC's ultra-lean, unobtrusive way of working kept many of us using it for serval years after the acquisition, well into LC's second major UI overhaul. But the engine team has been doing a great job with extending the platform, and maintaining an IDE to keep up with it is just too much work.

Hm, that was long ago and I think I did it manually somehow!?
But I really don't remember...

Paradoxically, now, on MacOS 10.7.4 even LC 6.1 gives a "Could not rename engine"
message.
