Forum Layout and PMs

This is not a complaint, I would just like to know if I am growing forgetful or unobservant.
When I joined a few days ago, it seemed to me that the layout of the forum was such that when in a thread, the posters' information was on the left and the post was on the right, as it seems to appear in most phpBB forums. This morning, it seems to be reversed, with the posts to the left and poster information to the right.
I thought that perhaps I had toggled something in preferences to make it do such a thing, and as it is unsettling to me, I wanted it back the way I thought it was, so I went looking, but couldn't find anything. The "prosilver" in the menu for board style is, indeed, the only choice.
So now I wonder if the layout was changed last night (a sign that I am not missing things) or if it has always been that way and I only just noticed it this morning (a bad sign).
My other question is whether or not we are allowed to PM other members?
Thanks to anyone who will clear up this silly mystery for me.

@ FourthWorld, thanks for turning the sigs back on.
