Application Icon Problem

I think I've done due diligence in trying to look this up on the forum and docs and can't find a solution, so please give some input if you can.
It's simple. I have an icon for my application that shows up just fine on my phone when I load it on my phone through the "Test" function. However, when I save it as a standalone application and upload it to the same device, just as a user would, all I see is the default icon.
So, the icon is showing up half of the time and must be configured properly (72x72 .png). Of course, it is entered into the manifest in the proper place. Why is it being displayed through "test," but not as a standalone?
