Possible to have both virtual and physical keyboard ?

I'm able to use a barcode scanner (USB) connected to a tablet, by setting the parameters for physical keyboard.
The scanned characters are sent to an input text mobilecontrol, on which i keep the focus.
It's working fine.
My question is : is it possible to have, in the same app, access to the virtual keyboard too ?
