sharing information with paired phone

Post by chrisv330 » Sat Jan 03, 2015 8:00 am

Hi I am new here. I am a teacher and working on a project with my class. We are hoping as part of our project to be able to use cheap android phones that are not actually connected to any phone or wifi service as part of our game and send files, at least text, back and forth in the classroom using the blue tooth pairing. Is this possible? If so, is it easy? I have an intermediate understanding of basic livecode scripting. But I am not a developer. And advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

I haven't tried it, but I did a quick search of the Google Play store and there are many bluetooth file sharing apps there, most of them free. They claim to be able to share all kinds of files; the one description I read says it can share documents, apps, videos, music, etc. So I'm guessing you wouldn't need to do much more than have the students download one of these apps and use it. It wouldn't be too hard to try one of these with a test apk and see what happens.
