Switch screen on/off, control brightness

Hello,

I'm using mobileLockIdleTimer to prevent the phone from sleeping during a timer. I don't want to waste battery while the timer is running, but need the screen to be on towards the end of the timer, without input from the user.

Is there a way to switch off/on the screen, or control the brightness?

I've looked through the docs and searched the forums but not found anything.
