Playing Video Without Menu Items.

Hi Guys!!
I have a question about playing a video that doesn’t display “Play, Pause” buttons when clicked.
The reason I am trying to do this is to make a small menu icon that is animated. .GIF is out of the question.
Any and all ideas are greatly appreciated!

Edit: I am not asking “how” to do this, rather, if it’s even possible.
