Voiceover support

I did some iOS voiceover testing and was disappointed to see that apps built with Livecode are not accessible. VoiceOver is the iOS screen reader that is used for persons who are blind and/or physically disabled to navigate an iOS system. I posted an inquiry in the iOS section of the forum and it was suggested that an external will be needed. This is a pretty big deal for developers. No Livecode developer will be able to compete for state and federal software development projects if they are not accessible. Can you offer some insight into how and / or when apps created with Livecode can be voiceover compatible?

hmmm... I wonder how that NASA stack got implemented? There must be some other considerations when one does or does not implement 508.

Thanks Simon. I can tell you that if you look deeply into the 508 regs, there are exceptions that can be made. It is also not uncommon for state and federal agencies to purchase an IT project that "slips through" until there is an audit. This is my "day job" so I am pretty familiar with how 508 affects persons with disabilities and the agencies that support them. Beyond 508, at the heart of it all, making applications accessible is simply the right thing to do.
