Previous versions had sorted this problem out.
Now we're back to LC 5.5 not connecting when I change my physical device.

I have 8 usb 2.0 ports in the back of my PC.
I have 2 not 2.0 in the front.

I used to have to keep switching the two front usb ports until the physical device was found by LC.
But with 4.6.4 I didn't.
4.6.4 would always find the device when changed.

Now with LC 5.5 the device is lost.
Even if I switch ports and even when I restart lc 5.5

And just now the test button was available but the test device was grayed out.
And when I clicked the test button LC 5.5 just hung.
So I closed 5.5 and now it won't open at all.
I had to go to Task Manager to close LC.
Loaded my project yet again and Test Device was there.
Tried to test but hung yet again.

Sometime I get a message about adb

And as I look just now at the PC Task Manager again I have 10 adb.exe running.
And after removing all those adb.exe from the task manager it looks like 5.5 can now test on my physical device again.
And then again I can't get the GPS to work with my app now.

I really don't want this distraction from finally making some decent progress with my projects.

Does anyone have a work around?
I'm using the GPS so the simulator and prvious versions wouldn't be a work around.

Just lost the JDK path in my preferences under 5.5

This may be linked to having to use 4.6.4 to edit
LiveCode Server v5.0.2 server scripting stacks
with LC 4.6.4 win32.

I wonder, since I'm now a 'serious' LC 5.5 licensed developer
does the 5.5 license allow me to work with v5.0.2.

Where perhaps v5.0.2 might handle running the different version better than 4.6.4 does?

You can run any previous version you've been entitled to in the past. You should find them downloadable from the dropdown menu in the your account at the Store if you don't still have them installed.

Be aware of the problems caused by opening stacks in 5.5 and then again in a previous version, and the precautions you can take to prevent issues. This has been discussed quite a lot on the mailing lists.

Nothing I hadn't already seen about moving between versions.
I'd be curious to know if they are loosing prefernece settings as well.
