I have been working with DataGrids extensively over the past year, and pretty much every time I have to learn something, I have to dive through the online content, which does me no good when I have no internet connection...
With the DGs being as intricate and finicky as they are, especially once you get beyond basic list capabilities, it would be great to know what properties and API commands are related to DGs in, say, a DG Dictionary format that is available when you open the program, much like the existing Dictionary documentation.
I have imagined a few other DG-related features that would clarify how to operate them, or at least bundle information locally that educates a developer about them (stuff like what is available on the LiveCode.com Tutorials), but they elude me at the moment.
Cheers!

Re: DataGrid API Built Into LC
Ahh, yes. Another feature for DataGrids that would be very useful would be a property to get the dgSelectedIndex or something like that when the DG's AutoHilite property is false. I have found multiple occasions where I don't want a row's background color to change, but by turning off the AutoHilite property, which achieves this, I lose the ability to use the dgHilitedIndex to identify which index is currently being clicked/focused/used.
I think I posted stuff on the forums trying to figure out how to work around this, and I believe it just ended up being really tricky.
