sort international with language?

There was just recently a thread on the use list that mentioned the fact that certain languages sort characters differently (using the sort international form of "sort"). Monte saved the day, and he was the one who brought the solution up.

Would it be useful to be able to specify the language as a parameter to the "sort international" command? Is this a major undertaking?

I only ask because I checked the membership list of this forum. There are 100,000 members, most of whom have never spoken. But they come from everywhere on the planet. LC ain't your fathers HC, where english ruled the day.
