Hi, I have a strange one...
I've been playing around with various android devices and Lc for some time now.
I've just acquired a Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and whilst my Mac 'sees' it and displays it's file contents, LC refuses point blank !
I thought rather than just fight it I would post a question here first...
So, I then connected my trusty ASUS Infinity - LC 'sees' it immediately (sometimes I need to exit and restart LC but, generally, LC 'sees' it immediately, with no problems).
Remove the ASUS and reconnect the Note - nothing.
OK... connect the ASAU and also connect the Note - LC 'sees' the ASUS but not the Note...
Hmmm... switch USB ports, so now the ASUS is usin gthe Note port and the Note is using the ASUS port - LC 'sees' the moved ASUS but steadfastly refuses to see the Note.
I have checked that 'developer mode' is enabled on the Note... and rechecked it... it is !
Anyone have any suggestions as to what I may be doing wrong / what I should try in order to get the Note 'seen' by LC.
Similarly enough (as an aside) a friend brought round a Google Nexus 7 and I could only intermittently get LC to 'see' that too... never found out why... never had the Nexux here for very long...
Any thoughts please ?
Regards.
Trax

Re: Galaxy Note 8
Amazing... this happens tooooo often
!
After posting the question (and, therefore, having to think about it in a manner that enables me to verbalise my problem) I find the answer...
On my ASUS (using ICS 4.1) it's simply necessary to enable Developer Mode...
On the Samsung (4.4), and probably the Nexus too, one needs to 'Enable Developer Mode' (7 taps on the About | Build Number) and then enable 'USB debugging' in 'Developer Options' (both towards the bottom of 'Settings' ).
A thousand apologies!
Hopefully, this may come in useful for someone else I guess, so I'll not delete my original post...
