How To Distribute An Education Stack?

Post by TerryL » Tue Nov 15, 2016 8:10 pm

I have an LC programming tutorial stack updated for v8.1.1. The Educational Outreach section of the forum is currently trying to organize and package LiveCode to meet established US curriculum standards. They have yet to create a repository for content submission and review. Any suggestions how to distribute my stack?

Of course, educators or anyone can download now. (requires v8.1.1+)

Beginner Lab. A LiveCode programming tutorial stack for beginners. Thirty-four lessons in the basics of LiveCode programming. Most lessons have projects and examples to help master essential skills. Lessons are in logical order, progressively more complex. Appropriate for entry level computer programming middle through high school.

Lessons: Program A Button & Field; Message Hierarchy; Message Box, Dictionary & User Guide; Commands, Functions(), & Properties; Containers; Menu Buttons & List Fields; Repeat; Debug; Geometry Manager; Math; Test Input; Date Time 1&2; Grouped Buttons & Fields; Sort Cards, Lines, & Items; Print Cards, Fields, & Text; Find Text; Styled Text; Cross-Platform Fonts; Speech; Visual Effect; Files & Folders; Icons, Images, & Graphics; Charts; Data Grid Table; Data Grid Form; Array; Palette, Modeless & Modal Dialogs; Button Ideas; Field Ideas; Reference; New LiveCode Features; Build Pull-Down Menu; Build Rolodex; Build Manual.

The stack can be redistributed and/or modified under the terms of the GNU General Public License. New lessons can be added or existing lessons modified to fit curriculum or instructor preference. Terry

Wonderful stuff, Larry. Thanks for posting that.

One of our long-term goals is to have a very comprehensive repository of stacks and add-ons, and I've been trying to help move that forward with the core team in recent months. Hopefully we'll see some progress on that soon.

In the meantime your post here makes those easily available, and is much appreciated.
