Can't save stack ... can't open stack file

It is my first day with LiveCode. I cannot save the stacks I am creating. The message I get is "Can't save stack <stack name> with error: can't open stack file." What do I do now? I won't get very far if I cannot save anything.

Welcome to LiveCode. Which version of LiveCode are you using, and in which platform? This error sounds like the directory you are trying to save the stack in, is read-only.

Could you try to save the stack in e.g. your Desktop?
