The word chunk (which now also has the synonym 'segment') has a very useful definition as it stands - it is a sequence of non-whitespace characters, or a sequence of characters surrounded by quote. This makes it useful for manipulating lots of non-natural language stuff (e.g. shell command strings).As 'trueword' cuts the mustard for the vast majority of writing systems
I wonder what the utility of 'word' is at all, and wonder whether it might not
be a good idea to transfer the functionality of 'trueword' to 'word' and then
remove 'trueword' altogether.
I believe you have the HyperCard team to blame for naming it so - an attempt to use a very familiar English word for something it really wasn't...
