Unable to open stack: stack is corrupted

Post by exheusden » Fri Dec 24, 2010 12:55 pm

When I try to open any stack, either by double-clicking it in the Finder or by using the Open Recent File menu item of Revolution (I'm using RevMedia 4.0.0), I get a message telling me
Unable to open stack: stack is corrupted, check for ~backup file.
Opening the same stacks with Open Stack… works fine.

My trial period for LiveCode has just expired. The stacks that produce the above error were not used in LiveCode, however, but could the LiveCode installation have had some effect on already existing stacks?

Incidentally, I've tried quitting and restarting RevMedia, but the error persists.

Hola exheusden,

if I remember right, this is a known bug in the 4.0 Mac OS X engine!

The only cure: avoid doubleclicking!
Use "Drag'n'Drop" or the "Open" dialog instead.

Merry christmas :D

Best

Thanks for the reply, but I've been double-clicking and Opening Recents since I started with Revolution as an alternative to SuperCard a couple of years ago. Today is the first time that I have seen this error. I haven't updated Revolution for numerous months, as far as I can remember, so I can't help but feel that this is more related to the LiveCode test fiasco (there were other problems relating to the LiveCode test that made me abandon it after just a couple of days).
