iOS Simulator on Windows7?

Post by townsend » Wed Jul 13, 2011 9:37 pm

I have an iOS license, but the iOS Tab, on the Application Settings screen, is always inactive & inaccessible.

Is this because I have a Windows machine? Does this mean I can only do iOS Simulations on a Mac?

One word answer: Yes.

Longer answer: In order to run an iOS simulator you need to use Apple's SDK.

Yes... it only* runs on a Mac.

*properly and legally

It is possible to install OS X Snow Leopard in Oracle's (formerly Sun) Virtual Box where the host machine is Windows on a PC. I don't know how well it runs, but a friend of mine has done it. I've got the machine in a another room but I've never had a chance to use it.

I know it works.

The mouse gets lost if the virtual OSX on Win32 is idol for a period of time.
That was a few weeks ago. Might have been fixed by now.

Yep Been fixed.
They even have Lion available now.
