LiveCode 4.6 Commercial Upgrade to 5.5

I currently am running LC 4.6 Commercial and would like to know if anyone can help me out with why I would want to upgrade to 5.5. I haven't built much in the LC yet but hope to build a sorta internal Invoicing, Inventory, POS program for our company on Windows and Linux.

Some of my main features I have been using have been Datagrids for display of a lot of data.

When I looked at the introducing live code 5 page on runrev.com it seemed a lot of the new features were beneficial towards mobile development. I'm not really focused on mobile development at the moment.

I did also notice a lot about accelerated rendering for graphics which from what i can tell is more for game support.


so I'm curious could anyone point out any desktop points of high value that would warrant the need to upgrade
in my case of building sorta ERP Application that displays mostly data and at the most in graphics product images
will be shown on the screen as well.

Right now for what you say you wish to do, your present set up with 4.6 should be more than adequate.... that's my take on it anyway.
