Break the link to pieces so I can re-assemble it and look at some working sample code for your device in java and maybe it will trigger something in my mushy brain.

What is the device itself? Youv'e said its arduino like but simpler, can you tell me its name and who makes it? (maybe with another broken up link to the manufacturers site?)

I'm not a very good writer in english but i will tray.
The device is Nuova Elettronica LX.1127, you can find it in many places on the web.
Look the version in spanish language, is very easy to understand it, i have one software version in visual basic but is very limited, wen i used Mac vith Hyper and Supercad i was very satisfated for the graphic composition of the stack, very simply and beautiful.
I beg your pardon for my english.

Hi friends, it is all ok :D
This is the way for read it:
.....
put numtochar(fld "Field1") & \
numtochar(fld "Field2") & \
numtochar(fld "Field3") into theData
write linefeed to stdout
write theData to file thePort
end mouseUp
.........

Important is the closing message mode for the 3 chars answering, now is good!
Write and read in bynary update mode, you open port one time and work until you need to closed it.
Tank you aniway for your help, you very gently.
Ciaoooo...!!!
