The ideal LC card size ?... the size of the screenRect of the device on which your app will run.
If you are thinking about scaling so that at runtime it will fit various screen dimensions, then that is a matter for conjecture. I think that it is easier to design at a size larger than you really need and scale down rather than designing for a small resolution and trying to scale up... there are many people who have many differing views on how to go about this... and I guess many will throw in their ideas for you to think about...
