Beginner Qestions

Post by Patrick Roza » Wed May 08, 2013 12:49 pm

Hi everyone,

I downloaded the community version of LiveCode a few weeks ago. I will first say I think it is a great development system. I went through the TickedOff tutorials using LiveCode with Windows 7. Read other tutorials and the user guide then installed the Android SDK. Decided to test the TickedOff app on the Android emulator using Android 2.3.3. Navigation worked well put no text input(worked fine in IDE). Attempted to install on Android table running jelly bean would not install. I even created a self-signed certificate with no change. I did read somewhere in the forums to use Android fields for text entry but how do you do that using LiveCode?

I would like to be able to create a simple application have it work in the emulator and then my table. Once I have made the trip though the process I will feel better about developing more for Android.

Thanks for all help up front.

Any suggestions, links or examples most welcomed.

Patrick

I think you want to read trough the PDF documentation that explains a lot of the mobile stuff. It's in the "Help" menu and called "Android Release Notes"

Of course asking specific questions here or on the use list is always bound to get you further, and there's even a book that deals with mobile development: http://www.packtpub.com/livecode-for-an ... guide/book
Various teststacks and stuff:
