Hi all. After waiting years for some enterprising Mac user to write a simple app to view live video from an attached webcam (not the built in iSight) Ive given up the wait and will attempt it myself. Problem 1 is that I have no programming experience at all. Ive signed up for the Livecode university and have completed the opening chapter. I spent some time doing google searches but all I seem able to turn up is pre-recorded video embedding.
I had an old HP laptop that I used for the past 6 years running AMCAP but it has died and I would like to use my MacBook Pro as a replacement but all the Webcam software Ive tried is pure junk. Not sue why but all of OSX camera apps reverse the displayed image. What possible (lack) of logic does apple subscribe to?
Anyway I would like a live video stream preferably full screen but the cameras native 640x480 res (scalable to the desktop resolution showing up correctly not mirrored... Doesn't need anything else. No recording no nothing.
Is this doable by a complete novice using Livecode?
Thanks for any suggestions.

This must be more difficult than Im guessing it is... Something so simple yet so difficult...

Re: OSX accessing Live feed Webcam
Im not even sure where to begin. Im assuming I need to hook into the MAC live cam feed but unsure where to even start. Im doing the Livecode university but Im a ways off knowing very much
I have ther basic concepts of Livecode stacks and am making progress but not real sure how this progress will get me to my final goal.
I guess the first step would be to get a Live feed in a Stack.
