Change backgroundcolor of menu

Hi,

I started using LiveCode a few days ago and I am really impressed. But I can't understand what I should do to change the backgroundcolor of a menu built by the Menu Builder.

This is what I have tried:

Changing backgroundcolor for the group -> nothing happens
Using edit group -> In that mode I can see the backgroundcolor change but when I return to the default view of the card it is still lightgrey

I have also tried different opaque changes in different places but without any luck, what am I missing?

Hi Nicke,

1. welcome to the forum

2. On what paltform did you try to colorize the menu?
Just made a quick test and could add a nasty violet to a newly created menubar via "Menu builder"!

BUT on a Mac you cannot colorize the menu bar at the top of the monitor, even if you set a bg color
for the menu group, the OS is taking care of this.

Sorry forgot to say that I'm using Windows. So did you change color from within the Menu Builder or how did you exactly do it?

Hi Nicke,

I created a new menu in "Menu Builder"
Then I selected that new group on my card and set its backgroundcolor.
That's it, no idea why this shouldn't work?!

Hi Klaus,

I made a new menu with the "Set as stack Menu bar" option disabled and now I could change the color of the menu but it did not affect the "bottom" of the menu that is still grey. Should I use "Set as stack Menu bar" or what does it really do? I'm using version 6.5 of LiveCode if that is of any difference.

Hi Klaus,

just wanted to update you that when I opened my LC project on another computer the menu was colored as I wanted... I'll have to take a look on what is causing that problem, maybe a new gfx driver can fix the problem.
