I've not done any work on the sensors/output stuff (yet). I believe most of them can be accessed via procfs and sysfs files and utilities invokable through the shell though this is obviously not the nicest approach. I'll hopefully be able to spend some of my time over the Xmas hols looking at providing something nicer but I can't promise anything at this stage.
