Yeah, the docs are a good place to start, but there's nothing like the collective experience of the community when you get all balled up in things.

Someone has ran into the same issue and has written a desertation about using only one default button per card.
Where others were deducing the blue highlighted (default) button looked better and felt like it was intended for all OSX buttons.

The LiveCode language and IDE is far far far from being intuitive.
You've got a huge challange on your hands if you are plan on learning LC.

You'll have to forget absolutely everything you know about any other developing language and its IDE.

LC is so different from any other dev language and it's accompanying IDE,
that It would be easier if LiveCode is you first development environment.

Consider joining the September Academy.
It'll get you well on your way of 6 months of frustration learning LiVeCode.
