Building A Stand Alone

Hello All
As a personal licence user I am learning he ropes so that as I get more proficient and can prove my 'In House' apps then I will go commercial licence.
In the meantime I want to try my app as it develops on a real device (iPhone iPad) instead of the simulator. This will give me and my colleagues a better feel of what they can do.
I tried to build the stand alone but get the message that A Provisioning Profile" is required. Is this the Apple profile used to run from Xcode or how do I go about doing this?
I am sure its a simple thing but not hang tried this yet it is one of the speed bumps the I have to get over.
Cheers and thanks in advance.
Grahame

Hi Grahame,

There's lots of info about creating and using the provisioning profile on this forum. Search for it, e.g. using the terms apple and profile. One of the many threads that will pop up is this one, which contains a lot of useful info.

In short: you need to pay for an iOS developers account at Apple to create a developers provisioning profile, which you drag into XCode. In the standalone settings window, you select the developers provisioning profile, which will allow you to test your app on your own device.

For more info, read the forum and Apple's documentation.

Kind regards,

Mark

Hi Mark
Many thanks.
I already was a paid up apple devilment programme member but haven't yet set up the provisioning profile.
I will have to to that now.
Thanks again
