I had a trail version of revolution media and couln't create a true stand alone application. i don't recall if there was a setting for stand alone on the file menu like there is with revolution studio but that doesn't do anything either. Can anyone help?

Hi Luc,

You can't build standalones with Media.

Hi Luc,

Technically Mark is totally correct, however, a month or so ago I did find that a member of the forum posted an interesting link to their site for a donationware product called Broadcast. Here's the info below:

You can try "Broadcast". It is a tool to distributing an application made with Media. It can be downloaded on my Web site (http://www.auverlot.fr/broadcasten.html).

I've tried it and it works pretty well. Only problem I saw was that it only seems to work on a single mainstack, so you can't use a program that consists of a series of substacks connected to a mainstack. For a simple program, it's pretty nifty though. I own Studio, so I didn't really need it but it's certainly interesting to see.

Cheers, deeverd

Broadcast is a nifty tool, but I wonder why the Rev Player doesn't just open stacks by double-clicking them?

If they're concerned about file-type conflicts with the authoring app, they could just have their player launch with files of type "rvp" or some such.
