How to use a.apk?

Thank you for all your help.

I just succeed in make a.apk file extenstion by signing.
So, I uploaded the file up to my website, and tried to download to my Android phone.
But, My phone won't download it, and saying "It's not supported file."
What did I do wrong?
Please help me...

What app did you use to download it? I use either Dropbox or a file manager. Dropbox is very handy, you can drag the apk to a folder on disk and then click it in Dropbox on your device. Then it installs.
