I had my stack open in LiveCode Community, and it was working properly, as always. I closed the stack without saving it, since I hadn't added anything to it. After it was closed, I got a message saying that a new version of LiveCode Community was ready if I wanted to download and install it. I did, and it did. After it launched the new LiveCode Community 6.1.0.2003 (rc 2), I tried to open my stack. I got the alert message: "There was a problem opening that stack: stack is corrupted ~ check for backup file"
I got a backup file from TimeMachine, and tried to launch it, with the same result. I got an earlier version of LiveCode Community from TimeMachine, but also had the same result. Then I launched an older LiveCode 5.5.3, and used that to open my stack. With that, there were no problems. Many of the stacks I made will not open in LiveCode Community. I bought "revMobGUI.livecode" and even that won't open, reporting the same corruption error.
What do I do to fix the "corrupted stack" problem?
Thanks, everybody!

Re: Stack won't open after LiveCode update - please help
I get this error when I try to open a stack in LiveCode CE that was created with/requires LiveCode Commercial. When you get those updates, make sure you're not loading the community edition if you were building with commercial edition.
Re: Stack won't open after LiveCode update - please help
I guess I just don't understand this. I bought a commercial form of LiveCode because I wanted to create a commercial product, then supported the launch of the open source version of the software. I downloaded the upgrades as I was made aware of them, thinking they would expand ---not hamper!--- by stack creation. Do I have to ~buy~ the Commercial version of LiveCode CE? Does this mean my previous commercial version, LiveCode 5.5.3 is now orphaned? (Since support/updates, etc., will be of the newer versions of LiveCode.)
Re: Stack won't open after LiveCode update - please help
Dear Jack,
Thank you for your request.
The error "There was a problem opening that stack: stack is corrupted ~ check for backup file" generally occurs when you try to open a password protected stack in the community version of LiveCode.
In order to open these specific stacks a commercial version of LiveCode is required.
With that being said, If you believe that your stack is not password protected or contains no password protected stacks/substacks (e.g. mobGUI) then please forward your stack to support@runrev.com as there may be an underlying issue that we would need to investigate.
Kind Regards,
Neil Roger
