Hi,
I've come to the point where I would like to be able to 'import' an external file into my Android / iOS app and am struggling...
With Windows / Mac this seems pretty simple - just using the 'answer file' command... BUT, with Android / iOS this seems to be a little harder.
I have researched this and it appears that there is no 'off-the-shelf' LC structure for doing this (?) but it seems that playing with the 'mobilePickPhoto' command and adapting it is the way to go... ?
If this is correct (if it's not or should there be a better way, a nudge in the right direction would be really appreciated ! ) and having a rudimentary understanding of the app 'sandbox' practice, I guess I can create folders / files lists for my app 'sandbox' BUT how would I get a file (say received by e-mail, or simply dumped onto the device's SD card) from OUTSIDE my app area/sandbox to INSIDE my app area/sandbox ?
Example : my app uses images and these are stored within an 'Image' folder within the app's sandbox. The device camera can take images and they will be stored (likewise) within the Images folder. But now, I need to backup/share these Images to/with the outside world. So, I can zip them (revZip...) and now want to make them available outwith the app. I guess (next task) I can attach them to an e-mail and e-mail them, that's OK (in theory) BUT how about getting them back into the app from another source (say, a different device) ?
Not too sure if that's clear but in the interests of trying not to become toooo verbose I'll leave it at that...
Anyone able to share please ?
Much appreciated.
