By crash I lost my two *.livecode: i.e. PK.livecode and adres2.livecode.
I have no backup
How to repair?
With "openstack i get them opened, but saving does not reinstall them.
Do I have to rebuild them?

Thanks for help
Rob

By "lost" do you mean the file no longer exist or that they can't be opened?

Normally when a LiveCode stack file is saved, it first makes a copy of the last successfully saved file, using the file name appended with "~" (e,g., "MyStack.livecode" would be "MyStack.livecode~".

See if you have such a file - if you do it should allow you to pick up where you were before the crash.

There is no such file with a tilde (*.livecode~) in my computer. Is it because I still worked with the "LiveCodeCommunityInstaller-6_5_0-Windows.exe"?
I reinstalled this one, but after that my files with extension .livecode are empty.
But using the button on the desktop, I can "open stack" and with that I reopen the lost files. But saving them again with 'save as'
gives me an non-opening file again, that says: "can't open" (in dutch).
What to do?

I don't believe LiveCode has a Dutch-localized version, so I don't understand how you could be getting that error message. What is the size of stack file, and can you describe how you opened it (whether by double-clicking, using File->Open, or some other means)?

The errormessage is a windows message, not by LiveCode.

I reinstalled LC with the LiveCodeCommunityInstaller-6_5_0-Windows.exe, so I have a LC button on the desktop.
Under the menu "file" I click on 'open stack' and from here I click on the 'non-willing' livecodefiles I created. They open.
But, whatever new stack I make now, they all stay closed!

I am thinking about deinstall all versions of LC, download the latest from internet and build them again.
I don't see how I ever get 'adres2.livecode' reopened.

What do you think?

Totally deinstalling Livecode makes no sense, since I cannot download the latest LiveCodeCommunityInstaller, because my name and emailaddress are registered in my account already.

Hi Rob,
An empty icon only means there isn't a "file type association"
Double clicking on those files from Window Explorer should provide a dialog box asking which application it should use to open the file.
From there just find liveCode.exe and set it to "always open with".

Simon
Note; it's unclear to me which file explorer you are using the above works with Window Explore.

Thanks, thanks, thanks: finally found it and everything is OK now.
