Does membership not include Livecode University?

Hi, I am brand new to Livecode and wanting to learn the scripting language - seems the "how to" videos in the academy do not teach the scripting language but are more recipes for creating certain functionality. I know html/css/php all very well but want to try my hand at creating desktop apps - objective-c is too much of a headache to learn right now as the learning curve is massive (considering it involves all of obj-c, cocoa, xcode - and ideally I need to know C before Obj-C). I joined the membership program because the deal looked good regarding the bundled tutorials - because as I read it the sales page strongly suggests that the Livecode University is included but it seems that only the "follow me" Academy stuff is included - am I right? I can't link to it because this forum does not allow me to post links but if you type the directory name "/membership" after the livecode url you will see the page.

It says the following under the description of what's included in the membership program... "Plus if you’re just starting out, you can learn how to program for the very first time with LiveCode University."

And yet, it seems they now want me to shell out more money for that when that is all I need right now.

I just cannot start working in something writing out code without knowing the scripting language - its not how I work, I first need to learn the syntax - my brain says "no" otherwise.

Have I got the wrong end of the stick here or what?

I agree with your brain.

How much of the User Guide included in the package (see the Help menu) have you read?

Almost all of the information covered in LC university is also covered here:

Edit: As always, I'll also recommend the LC scripting conference stacks. Go through them in order, and read the lessons above, and you will off and running.
