Hi.
Mac Os X 10.8.5, iMac Intel Core i7 16 GB,
LiveCode Community 7.0.5, Xcode 5.1.1

I do "open recent file" and choose "MobileTemplate.livecode".
This opens the mobile template, with theme "Green".

Without doing anything whatsoever, I select File/Save As... and type "MobileTemplateBis.livecode"
The save dialog shows the folder "SDKs", containing already "IphoneSimulator7.1.sdk".
I hit the "Save" button. I get a dialog " Saving in legacy format may result inloss of data... etc. Are you sure you wish to continue?"
I choose "Yes" and get a modal dialog

"Can't save stack mobileTemplate with error:
can't open stack file"

Please, help.

Welcome to the forums!

Not sure if this is the complete answer but when you choose Save As a window pops up and underneath the "File name:" is "Save as type:" there you can choose if you want to save the file in a legacy format.
Change it to LiveCode Stack (*.livecode, *.rev) and it will save as 7.x

I suspect you don't have rights to write to the sdk folder. Choose a different location. YOu can either browse to the documents folder, or prior to saving you can use the message box and execute "set the folder to specialfolderpath("documents") then try to save and it should open up the save dialog with your documents folder already selected.

Hi Sturgis, and thanks: no reason to save the stack in an old format; I saved it in the current format.
BUT, Simon was correct too: I had not enough privileges to save into the sdk folder!
I saved into the Documents folder and it was OK.

I wander why the sdk path was suggested in the first place. Mysteries...
