I get this for my Livecode Community menu :

I get the same thing with my standalone.

First I've thinked about a bug but could you confirm (or not) that is normal ?

Thank you

hi Matcarta, welcome to the forum - and no it's not normal, it should look something like this:

'Fraid I don't know why it is doing this on your system, but I'm sure someone else will have probable causes and suggested solutions for you

Dave

Edit: can you give us information on OS and LiveCode versions, whether you are running any LiveCode plugins etc

Ok, so it's a bug.

I'm on Mac OS 10.9.5, with live code 7.0.3.

I'll try to contact support...

It might be a bug (but not one I've heard of) - worth uninstalling and reinstalling?

I've already get a strange behavior in Livecode Script window.
That was caused by an interference between Enfocus Pitstop and Livecode...

Hi Matcarta,

please always try with the latest (stable) release, we are currently at 7.0.6!

Hi Matcarta

I've just searched for 'PitStop' in the forum and found this thread http://forums.livecode.com/viewtopic.ph ... top#p91228 from 2013

It looks like the original poster 'matgarage' was experiencing problems when PitStop was running on the same system as LiveCode and he had to choose between the two (and chose PitStop?). Maybe message him/her directly to find out the outcome?

Good luck!

Dave

AHHH the penny drops!

@Matcarta are you the same person as @matgarage who had the issue with PitStop back in 2013?

If so then yes I think best you talk to support (again)...

Kind regards

Dave

Hi Marc

Yes, I'm the same person ;-) I use MatGarage at home and I get a different login (Matcarta) for my job.
The problem with PitStop has stopped with an upgrade of Livecode.

The strange thing is I get the same problem on 2 different Mac (an old iMac coreDuo with 10.6 at home, and a brand new iMac with 10.9.5 at job)

More strange, I get a Livecode Indy Licence (expire at the end of november) and no problem with it.

I would like to completely uninstall Livecode community but trashing the app and re-install it doesn't work for the problem.

I've got the bad practice to keep the old versions of Livecode when upgrade it, and sometimes I have relaunched old versions instead of the new one. Does it can corrupt pref file and generate this dirty bug ?

Ok
Bug is solved with the upgrade in LC 7.1 (rc3).
It was a problem with the localization in French.

Thanks to all for your advices and help.

As regards your "bad practice" - I do this all the time and consider it "good practice"!

With LiveCode bringing out so many 'dp' and 'rc' versions (never mind 'gm' ones) that have different capabilities and different bugs - I will often use different versions of LC for different purposes. However I use an old-fashioned stack versioning system which keeps me safe in case I work on a stack in a later version (and save it to that later version as opposed to a 'legacy' file format) - and I must have many different versions of LC on my development machines (just counted, I have 42 different installations of LC!)
