RevMail or MobileComposeMail

Post by KimD » Tue Jan 19, 2016 2:33 am

I'm developing an app for Android, but after this is working I'd like to also produce an IOS version. I'm currently adding in (hopefully) the final bells and whistles, which includes a very simple email function.

I've tried both RevMail and MobileComposeMail - and was able to easily get both working on my Android test device. Livecode - you're a star!

1) Is there any advice out there on which I should use (RevMail or MobileComposeMail) if I don't need attachments or BCC?

2) I notice that both RM and MCM offer the user the option of sending the message using my android test phones: email engine, sms engine, google drive, and skype. I can see this confusing users. Is there anyway to remove the choice and automatically use the phones email engine?

Regards

For anyone that has the same question:

I found some info to help answer Q1 here -

https://livecode.com/resources/guides/m ... -features/

With regard to Q2 - I found that launch url "mailto:" took the user straight to the Android phones email engine; without prompting the user to select between text messaging, google drive, skype etc.

Hi,
I would suggest sticking with MobileComposeMail. It was developed for mobile use.
