Quicktime media key support ?

Post by HumanMedia » Tue Mar 03, 2009 3:18 am

There is a feature to Quicktime files that are supported by the codec to prevent playing unless a media key is provided. The only codecs I know of that support this feature are Indeo and Sorenson 3. The media key can be directly entered into the QT control panel or provided on-the-fly by the host application playing the movies.

I have a client with hundreds of files encoded with a media key and played an Adobe Director application. Director supports the media key but the client wants to continue to use this feature with a Revolution application, and defintely doesnt want to re-encode all of the movies.

Can this be done?

Does Revolution support Quicktime media keys?

Anyone know?

Support for QT media keys will make or break the development of this project in Rev.

(thinking aloud, I wonder if any external scripts sent to QT could effectively provide this?)
