"set the playrate to theSpeed" starts the player

"set the playRate of player "Couples" to theSpeed" causes player "Couples" to start playing.
Sometimes.
I am using LC 7 because LC 8 does not play my videos at all.
Is this a known quirk?

What codec are you using that isn't playing in v8? And on which platform?
