Where do folks go to submit functions other users can use

Hi folks.

Based on some past responses where other users had agreed that Live code was lacking in fairly basic RegEx functionality, I promised to get a function done that would take care of all these shortcomings and be beneficial to other users that utilize RegEx functionality. I am finally close to that point of submitting the program.

Based on other (non livecode developer) folks that have been actively using my program and giving me their recent very positive feedback, I think many livecode folks folks can benefit from this program.

Therefore I looked through the forum to try to find what folks do and where do they go to either submit something for others or where I can go myself to look for functions submitted by others that could be useful to me.

I was unable to locate this information so just to do things right can more knowledgeable folks that know what to do in regards to what I have stated, tell me what I need to do and where is this "shared functionality place" for lack of a better phrase to call this.

Thanks ahead to all that respond. I am just trying to do the right things within the forum rules for things like this.

Hi Ed?

You can add scripts as well as stacks to Sample Stacks, access from the IDE toolbar.

This is I believe much overlooked as a source of users contributions and should be pushed more by the LiveCode team.

one of my scripts http://livecodeshare.runrev.com/stack/7 ... g-vbScript

Unfortunately you have to download the script in a stack wrapper that the User Samples system adds.
It would be great just to be able to view and copy an uploaded script from within the Sample User interface instead of having to download it.

Hi Andyp;

Thanks for your response.

Is the "sample stacks" area the "official place" to announce and submit one's function or programs?

I was thinking based on how it’s done in other forums I have previously used, where there would be a place in the forum itself where one could "officially announce" what he/she would be submitting and a link to something like an MS one-drive or google drive link where a zip file containing everything that is needed like the program or function itself and any other files like example files and documentation etc. could be downloaded.

Without some sort of announcement place a lot of programs or functions would just simply be ignored right?

Thanks for your responses

Welcome aboard, Ed.

I think the Announcements forum here may be a good place for that:

Looking forward to seeing what you share.

It looks like this may be added to the Sample Stacks.
