How to get LiveCode to recognize Xcode sdks

I gave up trying to use LiveCode for quite a while. Yes, it was a big expense for me, but I find other frameworks/languages seem to flow better for me. Still, I'd like to be able to use what I paid for, so today, I decided to give LiveCode another try. I bought LiveCode specifically for Android/iOS development, but I would like to use it for Mac Desktop and Windows eventually. That is, if I can ever get started with it. <sigh> I'm not a great programmer, but I have several hybrid apps in the Apple Store and I'm porting them over to Android now.
My problem today is that I can't get Livecode preferences to recognize the Xcode sdks. I am running Mac OS Sierra with Xcode 8.1. Xcode is located in my Applications/ Xcode.app. I receive the following message from Livecode preferences when I try to direct it to my installation of Xcode:
Thank you for your help.

I've looked at the documents. The only thing that I can think of is that LiveCode doesn't support Xcode 8.1/Sierra,but I doubt that would be true so I'm asking for someone who may know the answer. The chosen folder does not have a valid iOS SDK...
