I have been using Livecode on Windows for several years. Today, my computer has decided that it won't launch the program anymore. The first Indy screen appears...then the popup asking if I want to associate the files with this version of Livecode. Then the whole thing closes.

I've restarted my computer, tried different versions of Livecode... checked on any open processes that may be affecting this. I can't figure it out.

Any ideas? I have a video trying to open 8.1.2, then 7.06, then 9.0 (all failing) at http://www.readyconnect.us/livecodewontopen.mp4

If all versions are crashing, maybe somehow yours Prefs have been corrupted.

Maybe it is worth deleting your Prefs in C:/Users/your_user_name/AppData/Roaming/RunRev/Preferences/ folder:

You should see one or two files there:

livecode.rev --> Prefs for LiveCode versions < 7
livecode7.rev --> Prefs for LiveCode 7,8 and 9

I suggest removing them both and then restart LiveCode.

Had exactly the same issue, deleted prefs as you recommend.
