I am pretty close to announcing and sending out information regarding a windows based program I developed that fixes pretty much all of the issues and limitations folks have been complaining about regarding the built in regular expression functions since regular expressions were first incorporated into livecode up to livecode 8.1.
The issue is I am not clear how one goes about doing this (making the announcement, providing the required files and what forum area this needs to be done in, if in fact there is a mandatory area to do this).
I had never received a complete and concise answer on this when I attempted to do this a month a half ago when the release got delayed due to having to overcome various livecode limitations that no one else seemed to have any real answers for solving.
Can an experienced livecode person answer this question with a level of clarity and conciseness (the actual steps that need to be taken)?

Program files/links:
What originally wanted to do and would prefer to do now is to provide a “Google drive/MS one drive” download link to a zip file that contains the following: A readme file, the documentation file, the .livecode source code (stack with scripts) and the standalone executable .exe if this is required (not sure which of the two or if both are required).
In addition the zip file contains some additional text files that are needed for running test cases to aid the user in understanding program usage and for ease of setup and a separate custom executable .exe file that the stack will invoke while running for overcoming the specified livecode limitations.
Can someone please specify what exactly are the file requirements? Is providing such a zip file link OK?

I was told back then that I could use the “sample stacks” option from the toolbar or that I could go to “the announcement forum area” to do this but both have issues I don’t understand.
First, the announcement area seems relegated for taking about livecode language release information NOT for announcing one’s own personal program for distribution. So clarification would be of help here letting me know if this is the place to use or if there is some other “announcement place” to do this in?
Second, with regards to the “sample stack” toolbar option for specifying my program, here are my issues that hopefully someone can answer.
[1.0] I don’t see where one can specify an actual new program ANNOUNCEMENT within the “sample stacks” area
[1.1] In the upload option you can select a stack for uploading but it’s not clear if it needs to be a .rev or a .livecode stack since it only shows .rev stacks within ALL of the examples and only shows .rev stacks in the folder dialog that show what kind of stacks can be uploaded.
[2] My program as specified above is not complete without the other necessary files so I am not sure where to put my other non-stack files since the “external“ option seems to be only for .dll files which I don’t have as part of my program files.
[3] I don’t see an option where I can upload a stack and related non-stack files at the SAME time (excluding dll file externals).
Thank you, appreciate all the responses
Unclear on using “sample stacks” from the livecode toolbar
