Lost Scripts

I figured out the problem with the SQLite database issue I posted recently ( but now have a HUGE Problem

All the scripts on a stack/card I was working on mysteriously disappeared when I closed Revolution and started it up again, hundreds of lines of code.

The last modified dates on the files are set to a couple of days ago.

I seriously doubt that there's a way to get the code back, but hoping this is perhaps a known bug of some sort.

I'm running on Mac OSX 10.5.

Pete
PS It's not just the scripts, all the work I did on card layouts, objects, etc has also disappeared.

Hi Pete,

Without more information, it will be impossible to help you on this one. Are you sure you saved the stacks? Have you actually seen the saved stacks on disk? Did you search for copies? Are you using Time Machine? Do you have any additional info?

I've already started to re-code. Yes, I'm using Time Machine but haven't done any restores from it for weeks.

One source of confusion for me though. When I edit a script and close the script window, it asks if I want to save it - do I also have to save the stack in order for the script to be saved? It's possible that is what caused the problem.

I've been bitten by this before, and now I always use one of the archive plugins.
You will find the altArchive plugin at http://www.altuit.com/webs/altuit2/altP ... nloads.htm
There are others about.

Thanks Paul, it's good to know I'm not the only person who has suffered from this! I'm back to where I was after a few hours re-coding and have now got into the habit of saving my work pretty frequently. I'll check the plugin as well.
