is there a way to name actual columns within a table ?
is there a way to put a heading in each column ?
i ask this, because when i watched the video (on opening the program) my property inspector looks nothing like the one in the videos, and does not seem to have the same features. why is this?
cheers

Um a possible situation might be because the video that you watched is based on a RevStudio or RevEnterprise GUI/IDE which is why you won't see stuff such as the DataGrid object. This is just my personal thought though...

Hi Smash,

From my trials/tribulations and what I have read on this forum, I have come to believe that tables are problematic. Have you checked out Data Grids as an alternative?

thanks shadowslash and you are most likely right, i dont know why they would give me that example when i bought RevMedia ?
hi ed, i am kind of over tables that is for sure, they are kind of useless, when there is no info on how to use them.
i would love to know more about the DataGrids, where would i find them??
are they part of Rev??

Smash,

Here is the link to a Webinar that demos Data Grids: http://www.runrev.com/offers/webinar-20 ... ebinar.wmv

It was part of the rev 3.5 release.

But isn't a DataGrid control only available to Studio and Enterprise users?

Smash,

Data Grids only comes with Studio and Enterprise. After watching the Webinar, you should have an idea if you need that much power or not. There is a demo stack available here: http://www.runrev.com/templates/runrev/ ... dsTour.zip

I have used them once and know that they can be tricky. My guess is that Data Grids is something that you can easily master with enough exposure. It truly is an amazing capability.

Rev Rocks!

is there anyone on here who is "ontop" of tables?
while i have you both here, with the program you build in media, can you sell it ??? or does that also have to be studio or enterprise ??

As far as I know, anything you make from RevMedia, Studio or Enterprise is yours which means you can sell away!! Image

Smash,

I use Studio and have never had the Media version. You can check the feature comparison chart here: http://www.runrev.com/products/product- ... son-chart/

When you compile a standalone is there some sort of Rev splash screen or player involved? I know with Studio and Enterprise, the user has no idea what authoring tool(s) you used. My apps have been confused with Flash applications.

HTH a bit,
Ed

RevForums should have like a small widget for a chatroom. That way it would be easier to communicate with each other. Image Somebody made ChatRev but it doesn't seem to work anymore.

yes a chat would be so much more easier shadowslash, as i have 100 questions LOL and i am getting more confused the more i ask LOL LOL
i am not sure what i am trying to do IS A STANDALONE ????
as it has something like 50 cards to the stack, maybe more LOL
i am going to finish watching this DataGrid video and see if that will do what i am trying to achieve ??
i was so sure there was a way to do it by using tables, but now i am not so sure.
being so new to all of this, sorry ed

Let me answer edljr's question in a one liner sentence...

There aren't any splash screens when you make apps through RevMedia. Image
