Hosting Revlets with Windows Home Server

I have been successful loading the html file and the revlet file on my hosting service (thank you Sarah for the step by step email) and I do like what Runrev is doing with RevMedia. Even at alpha I'm enjoying it way too much! However, I'm trying to get it working on my WHS (HP's EX485) for my smaller stacks. I use the add-in WHIIS to manage the various web pages on my WHS. The pages begin to load the plug-in but then freeze. Has anyone experimented with Revlets hosted on their WHS?
Thanks for any feedback

Hmmm... I wonder why you don't set up a Linux machine with Apache? :-)
As long as WHS serves any site, it should also be able to serve revlets correctly. The chance that the problem lies with WHS isn't very large. It should revlets the same way it does with any other media that needs a plugin.
A more likely cause of the problem is that the Revolution plugin doesn't quit correctly. If you look in the task manager, you might find the plugin still running there. Just quick all instances of the process and try to load your page again.
Best,
Mark

Thanks for the response Mark. I'm not a Apache person...sorry about that. I do like the WHS though. I go through the normal steps and I get "stuck" on the "Loading RevWeb Content". The little red progress bar shows a tiny bit of Red starting out but still freezes. I'm wondering if it's Runrev or possibly the windows domain of "homeserver" that I use that's blocking the plugin somehow???

Mark,
OK...I try your idea and I'm a bit embarrassed. Just for kicks since I didn't know Apache, I downloaded it and installed it. Did some hunting around and after finding out a few things and testing...it works like a champ. Why is everything so simple AFTER you do it and not before
Thanks for the tip

Hi Jim,
So, do you think that WHS was the problem? You might want to report that to RunRev as a bug.
Best,
Mark

Thanks Mark,
I actually do not think it is the WHS because the Apache idea you shared was very straight forward and just simply worked...(after some port mapping, firewall adjustments, adjusting the listening port on Apache, etc). It was straight forward enough that I think it Revlets should also work on my WHS just like Apache on my PC.
Since my WHS is on 24x7, it is the preferred delivery for many of my smaller apps. I do think WHS should be supported by Runrev revlets. It's a web server afterall.
However, I reported some Revlet printing challenges to Runrev already and they mentioned they are in Alpha stage and will have printing issues worked out in Beta or beyond.
I'll send them a quick note on the WHS and see what happens
