Video player issues and formats

To ensure the video content is not copied and to enable chapter selection from a side bar index, I want to run the content through software.
I had hoped the player object was the answer, but unless the user has quick time installed it will not function.
Because the video chapters will come from a server, I wonder if the browser object can be used to display the content.
I have a working browser object, but cannot see how to "frame" the video within the browser window. Web sites have a player on the page. When I call the file, it opens up Windows media player and runs there, not in the browser.
How do I solve this?
