Hi,
How exactly Server deploy works?
I understand there are a server thath interprets irev files like PHP
does, but...
If I do a web application, and I sell this application to various
customers, I need to buy server license for each server? or once I have
Server deploy bouht, I can deploy as far as I want?
Cheers.

glpunzi,
Personally, I would expect that one is allowed to use the LiveCode I-Rev server on multiple machines, but I might be too optimistic. I haven't read the license conditions for this product. Don't they say anything about deploy limitations? If not, just ask RunRev's support department.
Kind regards,
Mark

The answer of my last question to support, almost causes to leave my LiveCode tests

Well, and I'm thinking about it yet

Hi glpunzi,
What did you ask support? What did they answer?

I mean, support was great, my anger is about Runrev policy....
Basically

Then, If I buy 4.5 and 4.6 get out in 2 months? I need to pay upgrade?
Yes, if we release version 4.6 you will need to pay for an upgrade from 4.5.
Well, it's normal, I know, but, well...I'm tired from past companies I worked thath only important thing is "sell, sell, sell" every year with new license and any important update, and I don't know how Runrev works...

Hi iglpunzi,
I think it is simple. Buy once and don't buy an update unless it contains features that you like enough to pay for. If you wait 2 years before you buy the update, you pay approximately as much as for an annual update.
Kind regards,
Mark

Ok, this is aclared:
You can create an application that uses LiveCode Server, and sell your
application to your customers. As long as they are using that application to
connect to your LiveCode Server installation, on your server only, you only
need one Server license. If you are selling something that requires your end
users to install the Server engine, you would need to license each
installation of the Server engine

Now, more aclared:
I was not quite correct in my first explanation. If the end user is not doing any scripting, they can install the Server engine for free. If they are doing scripting, we can arrange a reseller discount for you, depending on how many licenses you expect to sell.

Agree. It's tranquilized for me to have an official answer. Now, I can follow investing in the platform without fear of more costs to deploy web apps to my customers
Oh, and I want to add, thath support always treat me like a charm. +1 for RunRev
