Hi all,

Would like to test developing:
On winXP sp3
For HTC HD2 - Android on SD Card

Using the install instructions as best I can for WinXP and Android.

Can't seem to locate the revAndroidPlugin.rev plugin.

Any help wold be greatly appreciated.

Hi Barry,

After you have purchased mobile for android, you can login in to your account and download the plugin. It is a pre-release and I don't think it is available until you have purchased. I also took advantage of the bundle... very happy with the purchase. Good Luck.

No proof of working on Android.
Can't get any of the three version of OSX to work on MACBook Pro either.
I'd prefer NOT to risk that much money on something that claims to work on multiple platforms
and I can only get to work on WinXP.

Hopefully RR tech support will have answers in a few days.

But thanks anyway.

Just wanted to clarify that LiveCode does compile AND work successfully on all these platforms.
I had unticked a number of include options. Now corrected and compiling and running without issues of extra steps.

Excluding Android as mentioned is not currently available to test.

Would appreciate any suggestions on how to test on Android other than a non refundable purchase.

Hi Barry,

Just a thought the summer acadamy http://www.runrev.com/newsletter/april/ ... p?a=NWS109 might be a way you could test Android.

Cheers

Hey!

Thanks for that post.

I was worried that it wouldn't start until July or August.

But it starts in just a few days. i.e. first week of May.

Very timely. And very cool.

RunRev have just emailed me they've published the full release of the revAndroidPlugin.rev.
And that it will be available in the trial download in just a few hours.
- I see v4.6.1 is available but doesn't have the plugin as yet.

Hi Barry,

for your own special interest:
Just like the iOS version, the former ANDROID "Plug-in" has been incorprorated into the LiveCode 4.6.1 IDE! 8)

My Windoes version 4.6.1 errors when compiling to Android.

And won't allow me to select Build for: iOS

..\My Documents\My LiveCode\PlugIns is stil empty

Guess I don't know what incorporated means in this context.

Can you build for iOS successfully?

Hi Barry,

1. I can build for iOS on my Mac, because I have a valid license for iOS.
You need to have the Apple Developer SDK installed and that only works/runs on a Mac!

2. I cannot build for ANDROID, because I do not have a valid license for it.

3. "incorporated into the IDE" means that the functionality of the FORMER plug-in
is now build right into the IDE, which means there is NO plug-in anymore.

Can anyone please tell me how to test the Android build using the trial version of RunRev LiveCode?

I've asked sales a number of time but still nothing informative.

I can't seem to get a clear answer.

Tech Support have emailed me to inform me that the plugin is no longer neccessary.
I can't seem to get it to build/save/create an Android exe.

Many thanks in advance.

Android addin is NOW available as part of LiveCode and is NO LONGER an addin.

I've tested on building Android app on MacBookPro successfully.

A bug prevents LiveCode under WinXP from saving/compiling for Android.
RunRev tech support has found the bug and has informed me they will fix asap.

I see this is for people who want to learn Live Code and goes towards their new license.

What about people that just bought Live Code and want to do the summer academy? Do I have to pay?

Yes, +1 here.
Very Very interested in joining the Summer Acadamy.

Although I haven't heard anything from RunRev this week as yet.
Probably still recovering from RevLive 2011.

Tech Support have returned from RR11.

I've finally received license credit for my RRLC and revAndroid OmegaBundle purchase.

I tested the license and all worked except the Android Virtual test on winXP.

Strange since the trial version wouldn't compile to Android but the licensed version will.
And the trial version Android Virtual test works but not the licensed version.

----

I've asked RR if the new OmegaBundle purchasers will be able to join the Summer Academy.
Hopefully we'll get the nod soon.

I'm hoping we'll get an Android forum soon as well.
