Stop the backdrop showing in the IDE

Hi there,

I would like not to have a backdrop colour anymore, since upgrading to lion, scrolling between applications causes havoc, trying to get all the livecode windows back on top of the backdrop.

The only way i have found to remove the backdrop from the ide, is reset to defaults in the ide prefs window.
But this does not save on re-starting livecode. Always reverts to my earlier grey choice.

Can i get the transparent backdrop to hold somehow, on re-launching livecode..?

Hi Gary,

did you "uncheck" Backdrop in menu -> View?

Hi there Klaus,

Yes i did, but that setting will not hold between launches.
It's not a huge deal. But it would be nice if i did not have to go into the menu and do that on each launch.

I wonder if i am missing an in my face save settings button somewhere.

Hi Gary,

hmmm...
Maybe deleting the prefs file might help?
What platform are you on?

Hi Gary,

I meant Mac or Windows or Linux! :D

On the mac you will find the prefs (a stack!) here:
/YourUserName/Library/Preferences/RunRev/livecode.rev

Make a copy of that file, quit LiveCode then delete the original file.
Restart LC and now you need to set your prefs again, but that should work.
Hopefully! :D
